Create Your Career returns, bursting with inspiration for our young followers just starting out on their creative career journeys! This is an opportunity to hear from industry experts in film, music, fashion, art and design. We will welcome 3 incredible speakers to share their stories, advice and experience of building their career in a creative role.Our guest Speakers are

Speaker:Pamela Smyth (Emmy Award Winning Hair & Make Up Artist-Game of Thrones)

Speaker:Katie Richardson (Musician, Composer & Musical Director for Theatres such as the Lyric & MAC)

Speaker:Hannah Vail (Fashion Designer with concessions in Topshop)

This event is open to individual attendees aged between 16-25 years old alongside accompanied groups from schools and colleges. For attendees from schools/colleges we are asking teachers to register the number of students within their group. Once registered we will be in touch to allow students to secure a place on 1 of 4 stimulating workshops including a Film Make Up Demonstration from Emmy Award Winning Hair & Make Up Artist Pamela Smyth.This is an exciting opportunity to find out more about different aspects of the vibrant creative sector and shape your future career goals.Places are limited for this event with a maximum capacity of 100 students for workshops.

This event will be compered by Malachi Cush.We will have exciting workshops including Make Your Own Scent with the Bearded Candle Maker and Make up for Film with Pamela Smyth amongst others.Please find out more about our amazing speakers below.

Speaker:Pamela Smyth (Emmy Award Winning Hair & Make Up Artist-Game of Thrones)

Pamela Smyth is one of most respected and requested make up designers working in TV and film in the UK. She is an Emmy Award Winning Hair & Make Up Artist for her work on Game of Thrones. She has also worked on The Fall, Line of Duty & The Frankenstein Chronicles amongst others. With 25 years’ experience, Pamela established a school in 2009 (The Make Up Dept) that would allow her to share her vast experience and knowledge with others. Pamela maintains an active role within the industry working with her team on a mixture of studio produced feature films and independent productions for cinema and television alongside her role as a Mentor on set.

Speaker: Katie Richardson (Musician, Composer & Musical Director)

Katie Richardson is a highly respected and celebrated musician & composer. As a composer Katie works as a composer and musical director for many theatre companies and organisations in NI including The Mac, The Lyric & Tinderbox Theatre. She recently performed in Good Vibrations at the Lyric as well as being the onstage musical director and is currently working on a new commission in London. She was Artist in Residence at the MAC Belfast in 2016 and Musician in Residence at the Beat Carnival. Her role saw her compose music for over 400 drummers, Singers & dancers for the large-scale finale of Culture Night Belfast 2014, with attracts an audience of 80000 people. Katie is currently MD for Open House Festival Choir and Women in Business Choir as well as working as a creative consultant and musical director on a freelance basis for many different projects. Katie makes music under the name ‘Hex Hue' (previously Goldie Fawn, Katie and the Carnival) and was a member of Choice nominated 'Pleasure beach' with whom she toured around the UK and Ireland. She has shared a stage, worked with and supported many artists including Van Morrison, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, All Saints, and Foy Vance.

 Speaker:Hannah Vail (Fashion Designer)

 Han* was born in August 2017, the brainchild of designer Hannah Vail. A 2016 Fashion and Textiles graduate of University of Ulster Belfast and resident designer in the Fashion and Textile Design Centre.Han* is currently a concession within Topshop in Victoria Square Belfast, Topshop Foyleside & as of March 2019 Topshop Arndale in Manchester. Their focus is to create beautiful minimal pieces with embroidery or print developed from original and abstract illustrations, for all sexes.
